Billed as the follow-up to Phoenix Rudder 9-70G, CX-12 combines the Phoenix Lock Chip, the Flare Main Blade and the Z Assist Blade over a 9-80 ratchet. Takara Tomy’s framing is a heavy, densely bladed defensive piece built to occupy the stadium center, soak repeated contact without shifting, and answer with a counter once the attacker has spent itself. In the fiction it carries a wrinkle: it is the first Phoenix not built by Blaze and Yggdrasil, originating instead from Cross Corporation.
The component to watch is Wall Wedge, a new Wedge-derived bit with a broader, higher-friction footprint — the part most likely to outlive the stock combo. Past that, honesty is more useful than analysis. This is a January 2026 booster with no meaningful body of public testing and no established tournament presence, so the defensive description above is manufacturer intent rather than a proven result. It is too new for a settled competitive read.
