Released 2 November 2023 as a standalone BX-19 booster, Rhino Horn was marketed as a Defense type and largely does not function as one. Its blocky, square profile generates enormous recoil on contact, which in practice throws it around the stadium and can effectively self-destruct the combo rather than absorbing the hit.
What the blade actually rewards is the opposite approach. Those wedge-shaped horns deliver some of the heaviest single impacts available, and paired with the low 3-80 frame it works as a counter-hitter — sitting relatively still, then punishing an opponent making rail passes. The problem is follow-through: it lands the big hit and has very little left afterwards, so it does not convert pressure into wins the way a purpose-built attack blade does.
Consensus is that it cannot be recommended for serious tournament use in either role. As a cheap booster it is easy to acquire, including through Hasbro’s US release as Horn Rhino 3-80S, and the Spike bit it brings has more general utility than the blade does.
