UX-03 arrived in March 2024 and quietly rewrote what a stamina blade was supposed to look like. Wizard Rod’s outward weight distribution and near-circular profile gave it endurance nothing else in the format could match, and it became the yardstick other builds were tested against rather than just another entry in the pool.
The proof is in how Takara Tomy responded: Wizard Rod has been restricted from 1-on-1 play in official tournaments while remaining legal in 3-on-3, which is about as loud a statement on a part’s dominance as the format offers. Its recoil-shedding shape means it holds spin through exchanges that bleed other blades dry, and in pure stamina mirrors it simply outlasts.
Almost nobody runs it stock. The 5-70 ratchet sits high enough to invite burst, so the standard competitive answer is 9-60 for stability, with 3-60 as the occasional alternative. Ball is the default bit choice, Orb the preferred substitute for players who want a slightly different equalisation curve. Disc Ball out of the box is a starting point, not a destination — buy it for the blade.
