BX-36 broke from the usual Random Booster formula. Instead of six unrelated Beyblades, the September 2024 Whale Wave Select packed a three-way pool — 5-80E as the prize, plus 4-70HN and 3-80GB — meaning every box guaranteed the blade and only the ratchet and bit were left to chance. That structure made it one of the friendlier gacha products of the BX run.
Elevate is the reason this booster mattered. The bit became one of the most heavily used parts in official tournament play, and Whale Wave itself showed up in top-placing decks through the Asia Championship 2024 circuit and its qualifiers. The blade’s alternating raised contact points let it barrage, smash and destabilise depending on how hard it is launched, which is unusually flexible for something filed under Balance.
Stock, the problem is height. Elevate lacks the widened shaft that other aggressive bits use to resist bursting, and sitting it on an 80 ratchet compounds the risk. Standard practice is to drop the height — the blade and bit both hold up, the ratchet is what gets replaced.
