Hells Scythe 4-60T was BX-02, released early at the CoroCoro Spirit Festival on 10 June 2023 before hitting Japanese retail on 15 July. It was the counterweight to Dran Sword in the launch lineup, and it has aged arguably better — Hells Scythe remains one of the strongest blades in the game and gets used in builds that have nothing to do with its original combo.
The stock setup undersells it. Taper is a limited bit, and the near-universal first move is to swap it for Ball, which turns the combo into a semi-mobile stamina build with a real competitive record. Once you make that change, the blade stops being a starter product and becomes a tool.
Its successor, Hells Chain 5-60HT, took the same design language further without making the original obsolete — Hells Scythe is still a part people buy on purpose rather than something they end up with. For anyone building a first serious collection, it is a more useful purchase than its BX-02 numbering suggests.
