BX-44 shipped in Japan at the end of June 2025, giving Ryu Isshin’s manga Beyblade — introduced in chapter 23 — its physical release. Its notable contribution is the ratchet: M-85 was the first in the system to incorporate a metal ring, making it the heaviest ratchet available at launch and pulling weight inward rather than out to the rim.

Tricera Press follows the same philosophy, with five main contact points, an inward centre of gravity, and launcher hooks noticeably larger than standard to push more mass toward the centre. It is a coherent design idea — a tall build that resists being knocked backward — and worth handling for that reason alone.

The stock combination does not survive contact with serious play. Pairing an 85 ratchet with Bound Spike, itself a tall bit, produces poor burst resistance, and the blade is outclassed by established defense options. Documentation is still thin given how recent the release is, so treat competitive verdicts as provisional; the M-85 ratchet is the piece most likely to find work elsewhere.
