Samurai Saber Blade

Samurai Saber is a round-bodied Attack blade built around a moving part. Two extra protrusions sit in the blade unsprung, so centrifugal force pushes them out during the spin and impacts push them back in. Takara Tomy describes this as switching between a four-sided katana shape for repeated hits and a two-sided tachi shape for a single heavy strike. Like other Unique Line blades it uses resin launcher hooks to push weight outward, and it comes in around 36.5 grams.

In practice the gimmick does less for attack than the marketing suggests. Testing reported on beyblade.wiki found the free-moving protrusions add little hitting power and mostly soak up collision force, which makes the blade play closer to Balance than to a true attacker. As a straight attack blade it is outclassed by Phoenix Wing, Aero Pegasus and Shark Scale. Where it does find use is anti-attack: it can absorb hits from strong attack blades and counter them, which gives it a niche rather than a regular slot.

Because it works best when it is absorbing and returning hits, Samurai Saber suits bits that hold some stamina while still moving, such as Taper, Kick or Unite. Level has been suggested for matching up against Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate. Ratchet testing is thin, so start from mid heights and adjust. Players who want real attack move to Phoenix Wing, Aero Pegasus or Shark Scale, and Dran Buster is the usual comparison for a one-hit style.
