Wizard Rod is a wide, nearly circular Stamina blade with five shallow gaps breaking up its rim. It was the first blade in the Unique Line, and it uses resin launcher hooks in place of the usual metal ones, which moves more of the mass toward the outer edge. Its diameter is wider than the blades released before it, and at roughly 35 grams it carries that weight in a large, smooth ring. That combination gives it a long, steady spin and makes it hard to knock out of position, because attackers mostly glance off the round profile instead of catching an edge.
It is one of the defining blades of the format. The Beyblade Wiki calls it a staple for Stamina combinations and a must-have for WBO play, and Takara Tomy’s own B4 rules ban it from 1on1 battles while still allowing it in 3on3, which says a lot about how much it was dominating. The tradeoff is that it offers almost nothing on offense, so it wins by outlasting rather than by forcing finishes, and well-built opposite-spin stamina combos can still beat it.
The common build is Wizard Rod 9-60 Ball: the 9-60 ratchet keeps burst risk down and Ball gives a stable, slow-moving tip. Orb fills in when Ball is needed elsewhere in a deck, and 3-60 shows up as an alternative ratchet. Players looking for something to beat it usually reach for Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate, and newer heavy blades such as Silver Wolf and Scorpio Spear now compete for the same stamina slot.
