Rhino Horn is a small right-spin defense blade. Its basic shape is round, broken up by four bumpy, rugged sections around the edge. At about 33 grams it is light even for a defense blade. Its small diameter can help it slip some early hits. The uneven perimeter, though, means it does not soak up impacts the way a smooth defense blade does. Contact tends to create recoil, and the blade wobbles once it has been hit.
Rhino Horn is generally rated weak for competitive play. The box calls it a defender, but in testing it holds the center while taking real knockout risk from the recoil it creates. It also bursts often, so results swing from match to match. It holds up reasonably against other stock combos. Against strong attackers and the established top blades it struggles, and its stamina is too modest to make up for that. Its upside is that a scrappy match can still end in an over, xtreme or burst finish in its favour.
If you use it, keep it low and stationary. Swapping the stock 3-80 for 3-60 or 4-60 makes it harder to hit from underneath, which cuts burst risk. Needle, Spike or Orb suit its sit-and-take-it style better than High Needle, which tends to tip it over early. Ball adds movement but makes its wobble worse. Most players who want a defense blade move to Knight Shield or a heavier, smoother option.
