Gear Needle is the geared cousin of Needle: a cone drawn down to a point noticeably blunter than either Needle or High Needle, with the extended Xtreme Dash teeth ringing the shaft just above it, and the assembly sits lower than either predecessor. Its default behaviour is stationary and docile — even off a hard launch it wanders in tight circles near the centre for a moment, then steadies. Crucially, the gearing here buys nothing in speed, because a point tip never presents the teeth to the floor under normal spin. What it creates instead is a raised collar that catches the stadium surface when the bey leans, contributing a modest amount of life after death.
That collar is also the bit’s biggest liability. A point generates almost no friction, so knock-out resistance is poor, and once a combo is pushed back onto the X-Line the exposed teeth latch on and fire an unwanted Xtreme Dash, draining spin and raising the odds of a self knock-out. Parking in the centre also leaves it as a stationary target.
Its lower height gives defence builders something to work with, and it will bolt onto anything, but the format has better answers. Anyone chasing raw stamina takes Needle or High Needle; anyone chasing survivability takes a Ball-family bit. Gear Needle is not a bit to build a competitive deck around.
