Unicorn Sting is a right-spin balance blade built on an asymmetric “double style” layout. One half of the round body is smooth and made to deflect attacks. The other half is rugged, with seven small blades that can land several hits in a row. It weighs about 33 grams. The body is thick enough to cover much of the plastic frame, so less of the ratchet is exposed than on most blades from that period. The round outline also gives it decent life-after-death.
It sits in the middle of the pack: a flexible blade, not a staple. Kept stationary, it can outspin or knock out opponents. It can also turn a recoil blade’s own bounce back on it, which made it a known answer to Hells Scythe, and its defense is enough to survive Phoenix Wing. Smooth, heavy defense blades like Knight Shield, Knight Lance and Hells Chain give it trouble. It shows up only rarely in tournament results, near the bottom of BeyMeta’s recent WBO rankings.
The 5-60 ratchet pairs best with it because it adds balance and stamina. Ball improves several matchups but raises burst risk, and Gear Ball is the safer middle option. Taper on 3-60, 4-60 or 9-60 makes a counter-attack build. Lower ratchets give it more movement at the cost of stamina. Players after a dedicated defender or stamina blade usually move on to Knight Shield, Hells Chain or one of the later stamina releases.
