Shark Edge is a two-winged Attack blade with a heavy body and two large, sharply angled contact points that slope upward. That slope gives it real upper attack, so it can pop opponents over the Xtreme Zone wall even late in a battle, while the wing shape delivers some of the hardest smash hits of the early releases. At roughly 34.5 g it matches Dran Sword in weight, and the mass gives it a lot of inertia on contact.
It shares the top attack tier of that era with Dran Sword. Reference sites rate its smash at least equal to Dran Sword’s, and BeyBase’s player lists placed Shark Edge 3-60 Rush in their combined top five, with one player calling it a glass cannon. The cost is stamina, which is clearly lower than Dran Sword’s, so it needs to win early and has essentially no chance of outspinning anything. It is hard to control and prone to self-knockouts, and like Dran Sword its points dull with use.
For mobile attack it runs on 3-60 or 3-80 with Low Flat, Flat or Rush, with Taper as the option for a little more spin time. Point and Rush help offset its low stamina. Needle turns it into a stationary attacker that hits from the center early. Players who want a safer attacker drop to Dran Sword.
