Knight Shield is a Defense blade with a mostly round but bumpy outline broken by three gaps, giving it a loose tri-wing layout. Takara Tomy describes a damper structure of six protective pieces meant to soak up impact. It weighs about 32.3 g, and despite the shock-absorbing intent it has fairly high recoil, so contact tends to push both tops apart rather than simply absorbing the hit.
That recoil is what gives it more attack than the label suggests. BeyBase’s early guide notes it can win by knockout fairly often for a defense blade, and its later Hells Chain review rates it a bit ahead of Hells Chain on both defense and offense. The tradeoff is stamina: below average for its role, and high-recoil stamina blades can outlast or overpower it. Community write-ups sum it up as a generalist that does several things adequately and none of them best.
It does its best work in balance and semi-stationary builds. 3-60 and 3-80 are the common ratchets, and Taper and High Needle are the usual bits, with Needle as the stock option for staying central. Players who want more endurance from a similar role move to Hells Chain, and those wanting a dedicated counter blade often try Knight Lance.
