Weiss Tiger is a three-sided right-spin balance blade. Each of its three sections combines three surfaces: an upper slope, a damper and a smash face. The idea is a short combination of strikes in one pass, with an upper hit that lifts the opponent followed by a smash hit that pushes it away. The contact points themselves are fairly small, and the blade weighs about 34.5 grams. Like the Driger line it nods to, it tries to cover attack and defense in one mold.
In competitive terms it is outclassed. It is too light to carry real inertia, it lacks the recoil to bother top stamina blades, and dedicated attackers do the attacking better. It barely shows up in tournament results, sitting near the bottom of BeyMeta’s recent WBO ranking. It does have a real niche. The upper-then-smash sequence can destabilize defense combos, and on a stamina or balance bit it can stand up to attack types. Its general-purpose design means it works with a wide range of bits, but it is the best choice for very few matchups.
It pairs well with Kick, Taper and the stock Unite, which suit its counter-attack role. Low ratchets like 3-60 and 7-60 keep it stable. For anti-attack duty a heavier balance or defense blade is the usual upgrade, and players who want the upper-attack idea with more weight behind it move to Phoenix Wing.
