Hells Chain is a round, five-sided Balance blade whose five contact points are shaped like chain links. Each point has a longer, lower section and a shorter section angled upward, so it can strike from two heights. At about 33.25 g it is among the heaviest non-attack blades of its era. The edges are softer than Hells Scythe’s, but the underside is flat and slightly unbalanced, and the raised points leave the ratchet exposed from below.
It sits between defense and stamina. Compared with Hells Scythe it has less recoil and less spin time, and it edges out Wizard Arrow on both stamina and weight. It turns away mobile attackers fairly well but is vulnerable to low, stationary attackers such as Shark Edge or Viper Tail that hit it from underneath. BeyBase rated it technically skippable but a useful middle option, and two of its contributing players included Hells Chain builds in their personal top fives.
Keeping it low is the main fix, so 5-60 is the favored ratchet, especially with pointed bits like Needle, High Needle or Spike that stop the wobble. Orb was the other common choice, and Point appeared in player lists. Players who want more stamina go back to Hells Scythe, and those wanting more defensive punch use Knight Shield.
