High Taper Bit (HT)

High Taper is the raised version of Taper, and mechanically that is the whole story: the same narrow circular flat tip with a shallow indentation in the middle, the same upward angle from the centre that turns the outer edge into a second contact point, mounted so that the bit rides a shade higher than its shorter sibling. That extra height mostly changes the angle a combo presents to an incoming blade rather than how it travels the floor. In motion it is still a controlled aggressor — mobile enough to find the X-Line and trigger an Xtreme Dash, but with meaningfully more spin left in the tank afterward than a dedicated attack tip leaves.

Its competitive case rests on being an honest middle option. Taper is the one that shows up in tournament decks; High Taper gets used when a build specifically wants the taller ride, either to sit above an opponent’s contact points or to change how a heavy blade tilts. Nobody picks it for speed, and against a committed attack bit it will lose the exchange.

It works best under attack-leaning or heavy balance blades where the pilot wants aggression without gambling the round on it, and short ratchets keep its natural height in check. The usual substitution is straight across to Taper; players wanting more bite go to Flat or Low Flat, and those wanting to survive go to a Ball-family bit.
